About Kim
Kim played number one all four years of high school, the first two in Alexandria, VA, and the final two years in Pittsburgh, PA. At Brashear High School, Kim qualified for the Pennsylvania State High School CrossCountry, Track and Tennis State Championships. That same year, Kim won his first Men's Open Doubles Championship at age 17. Kim accepted the opportunity to play Division I tennis at the University of Pittsburgh. While at Pitt at 18 years of age, I started to win numerous Men's Open Singles, Doubles and Mixed Doubles tournaments in Pittsburgh, Ohio, Kansas City, Kansas and Kansas City, Mo. At 20, Kim began teaching private lessons. For 2 years, Kim was selected to work booths at Arthur Ashe kids day at the U.S. Open. For 5 years, the USTA sponsored Kim to the National Tennis Teachers workshop in New York. And, one year, the USTA sent Kim to the Recreational Tennis Teachers Workshop in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The last 12 years, Kim coached tennis at Mt. View High School in Mesa, AZ and was as named Arizona Division I Boys Tennis Coach of the Year in 2016 and Kim coached the Arizona State 5A-1 High School Singles Champion. Kim's motto is: Fitness, Flexibility, Technical Proficiency and Mental Toughness.
